The Rape of Nanking
As stated by The History Place," In December of 1937, the Japanese Imperial Army marched into China's capital city of Nanking and proceeded to murder 300,000 out of 600,000 civilians and soldiers in the city. The six weeks of carnage would become known as the Rape of Nanking and represented the single worst atrocity during the World War II era in either the European or Pacific theaters of war". The Crimes that the the Japanese people imposed on the Chinese were horrific and unimaginable. The Japanese first eliminated the 90,000 soldiers they had captured because they surrendered. According to The History Place,"After the destruction of the POWs, the soldiers turned their attention to the women of Nanking and an outright animalistic hunt ensued. Old women over the age of 70 as well as little girls under the age of 8 were dragged off to be sexually abused. More than 20,000 females (with some estimates as high as 80,000) were gang-raped by Japanese soldiers, then stabbed to death with bayonets or shot so they could never bear witness.
Pregnant women were not spared. In several instances, they were raped, then had their bellies slit open and the fetuses torn out". News of this spread to the U.S. but the Americans were so consumed in the war they did not pay attention to what was going on in Asia. The Americans also thought that the crimes that were being described were to horrible to be believed. It was 20 Americans and Europeans that made a safe zone."These Westerners became the unsung heroes of Nanking, working day and night to the point of exhaustion to aid the Chinese", they saved about 300,000 Chinese.

Cambodia 1975
According to Etcheson,"On April 17th 1975, Khmer Rouge forces entered Phnom Penh, Cambodia and defeated the ruling Lon Nol Army. The taking of Phnom Penh marked the beginning of the Cambodian genocide".As Stated by The Peace Pledge," Under Pol Pot's leadership, and within days of overthrowing the government, the Khmer Rouge embarked on an organized mission: they ruthlessly imposed an extremist programme to reconstruct Cambodia (now under its Khmer name Kampuchea) on the communist model of Mao's China. The population must, they believed, be made to work as labourers in one huge federation of collective farms. Anyone in opposition - and all intellectuals and educated people were assumed to be - must be eliminated, together with all un-communist aspects of traditional Cambodian society". In the end of this over 2 million Cambodians perished.
